For Coffee Lovers
Hello friends,
Are you a coffee lover? Or live with one? If so, this blog is for you! Interestingly, I am not the coffee lover at our house. I do like a shot of espresso here and there, but my hubby is addicted. I am a tea person, and only grab a cup of coffee if I am attending a work meeting or a conference to keep me awake.
My hubby Jaksa was going to Starbucks almost every day, so I thought, why not invest in a great coffee machine for our own house and save money in the long run?
Finally, I decided to pull the trigger and bought the machine as a birthday present for him.
Now he tells everyone that aside from his family, this is number one item he would save if our house was on fire! 😊 He enjoys having his coffee sitting in his favorite chair in our house while he reads and snuggles with Luca in the morning. In addition to that, he loves making coffee for our guests. It was a great decision and worth every penny.
Here are the details on the coffee machine I chose and our thoughts of it:
Gaggia Anima Prestige: if you are looking for an automatic coffee machine that froths and grinds, I would totally recommend this one. It’s very easy to use, clean and it has several options for delicious coffee. We wanted a machine that you only have to press a button and that’s it. Voila! Delicious coffee at your fingertips. It comes with a carafe so you can add your milk, and this is mainly the only thing you gotta do besides choosing your coffee drink. All the options are great. We tried them all and my husband’s favorite is the cappuccino. However, he will switch between cappuccino, espresso and espresso longo (hot water with espresso added to it). You can choose how strong you want your coffee to be and the temperature as well. Some people say that they would like their coffee to be hotter, but we are very satisfied with the temperature. It heats up in about 20-30 seconds and the grinder is not very loud. It’s an Italian brand, it’s sleek and stylish. We get lots of compliments on the aesthetics of the machine and mainly on the coffee. I know the price is on the higher end, but reasonable for its functionality and quality. One of the things that they suggest is to use non-flavored coffee. Jaksa became a bit a of coffee snob and he loves to shop local. His go to place to buy coffee is Hubbard & Cravens, which has two locations very close to our home. So, if you are local, you should try their coffee. They source and roast the highest quality coffees from around the globe. His favorite coffee is from Cost Rica, and he recommends Finca Fidel and Herbazu coffee.
Our coffee station is a bar/wine cart from Value City Furniture. It goes well with our other furniture in our dinning room. We love having the coffee machine in there, because when we have guests for dinner, it’s always fun making coffee for them in the same room we are having our dinner. The café latte cups, espresso cups and tall latte cups are all from Whole Latte Love. That is where we purchased the Gaggia Anima Prestige too.
The little white spoons, we brought them from Croatia, but I found similar ones for you here. The shelf is from Etsy. I decided to add the blackboard behind the shelf just to give that coffee shop look and be able to write something fun on it. Also, from Etsy.
The coffee, sugar and chocolate containers are from Container Store. I hope you enjoy our little coffee corner and how we created this little tasty station.
Beijos,
